Professional Qualifications Framework

        How the Qualifications Work

        Award, Certificate or Diploma?

With our Professional Qualifications in Management & Leadership, each
qualification programme can be taken as an Award, a Certificate or a Diploma. This
has nothing to do with the level, but rather represents the breadth or scope of the
qualification undertaken.Awards are a single-unit qualification – often focusing on
a specific element or principle of management & leadership. Examples we offer
include the Level 3 Mentoring programme, which is based on the Level 3 Unit of
‘Managing Individuals to be Effective in Their Role’ and the two Level 7 ‘Strategic
Approaches’ programmes, which focus on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion or on
        Mental Health & Wellbeing.

Certificate programmes are typically formed from two units and give wider
coverage, while Diploma programmes are the broadest of all and often encompass
5, 6 or even 8 units to give a thorough grounding in the principles of being a leader.

How does the Unit numbering work?

Each unit is designated with a U followed by a number depicting the level and
others depicting the specific unit content. As an example, U526 shows it is a Level
5 Unit and is number 26 from the full list of Level 5 units. Similarly, we could have
U301 (the first of the list of L3 units) or U716 (the final L7 unit).
