NCM 109- CARE OF MOTHER, CHILD AT RISK OR WITH PROBLEMS
Given actual or simulated situations/conditions involving client (mother, newborn baby, children) and family who are at risk or with
problems, the students will be able to:
CILO 1: utilize the nursing process in the holistic care of client for the promotion and maintenance of health,
a. Assess with the client his/her health condition and risk factors affecting health.
b. Identify actual/at risk nursing diagnosis.
c. Plan with client appropriate interventions for identified problems.
d. Implement with client appropriate interventions for identified problems.
e. Evaluate with client the progress of their condition and outcomes of care.
Course Intended
Learning Outcomes CILO 2: ensure a well-organized recording and reporting system
CILO 3: observe bioethical principles and the core values (love of God, caring, love for country and of people)
(CILO)
CILO 4: relate effectively with clients, members of the health team and others in work situations related to nursing and health.
CILO 5: conduct readings on recent researches related to the concepts and come up with reaction papers.
CILO 6: On IZN, analyze and apply international best practices and guidelines in the care of mothers and children at risk or with
problems, recognizing the influence of cultural, socio-economic, and gender factors on health outcomes.
CILO 7: On GAD, evaluate the roles of gender and development in maternal and child health scenarios, aiming to advocate for
equitable care strategies that address the specific needs and rights of diverse populations globally.
CILO 8: On SDG, students will learn to apply principles of sustainability in healthcare settings to ensure long-term availability of
resources for mother and child care, supporting the broader aims of SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
