Tref y Rhyg Primary School:

What a difference an hour can

          make

          “Pupils at Tref-Y-Rhyg Primary School,
Rhondda Cynon Taf, reported a large

quantity of rubbish on the streets
while walking to and from school. We

were all disgusted, in disbelief and
disheartened, so we decided to make

a change and KS2 got involved in the

          Litter Free Zones initiative.

“Our local councillor came along on

each walk and is super proud of us
and our commitment. Our school “So far, we collected 18 bags in

committed to one-hour walks where February and 5 bags in May. Our next
we split into two groups and follow a planned litter pick is in June 2023.

set pathway surrounding our school. Let’s spread the word to keep the

“We feel immensely proud especially litter off our streets!”

          when the local community beeps,
waves, and cheers us on while we are - Patricia Gould, Eco Team Leader
