SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH
Cornelious Johnson, Superintendent Ballast Cleaners
Tell me a little more about how you started with Loram, how did you
hear about the job, which positions you’ve held? I heard about the job
online. Loram had a job fair in Valdosta, GA. I’ve been a General Laborer
all the way up to Superintendent. (Since completing this interview, Corneli-
ous was promoted to Assistant Manager, Ballast and Grade!)
What do you enjoy most about working at Loram? The traveling.
What is your favorite memory from this past year? No favorite memory
yet. All work this year. Might have been the hardest start up!
Where is your hometown and what is the best thing about it? Ray City,
Georgia. Best think is I am only about an hour away from Flordia.
Do you have any hobbies? No hobbies.
What is something about yourself that would surprise your coworkers? I like to cook.
What is the biggest challenge you face on the road and how does it affect your life? How do you deal with it? Being
away from home. You miss out on a lot of things with family.
What is the best advice anyone has given you, and who was it from? Take care of your machine and it will take care of you.
Advice from John (Bo) Hemberry.
What advice would you give a new employee at Loram? This job is what you make of it. You can go as far as you want!
How do you pass time when you get a day off? Relaxing and watching TV.
What has been your favorite city you have been to while working at Loram and why? Probably Gillette, Wyoming. Just
because we spend so much time in the area.
Do you have any mentors? If so who are they and why do you consider them a mentor? I consider Bo Hemberry and Mar-
tin Cyrway my mentors. Bo gave me my shot as a Superintendent, and Martin is still mentoring.
