SPOTLIGHT LORAM UK
This was a fantastic opportunity to
showcase Loram and all that we can of-
fer in the region, there are many actions
and leads to follow up on in the coming
weeks and months, the show was just
the beginning!
A special mention must go out to the
Loram UK team who have been crewing
the machines in the region, enhancing
our reputation, and creating the under-
standing that we are a professional and
reliable partner. Also, Brandon Riddering
for creating a contract in the area and
Lexxy Nubbe for the fantastic artwork,
which framed the three likely lads from
the UK, Andy Watson, Lee Tinney, and
myself.
Here is to many successful outcomes
from the trip.
Work Orders Continued
The only instance where more than one return line will be found on a work order is when returning air compressor
desiccant canister assemblies. The air compressors on many of the fleet machines use three canister assemblies, and
because these are individually serialized, three return lines need to be created.
As soon as the return lines are created, the EAM Team receives an email indicating your machine has a part to return.
This email contains the machine name, the part number and serial number. We will look into the serial number and
attempt to verify that it was the last part installed. Sometimes there are issues where the serial number on the return
line doesn’t match up with the last installed serial number at that location. The EAM team will reach out to your ma-
chine via email in an attempt to resolve the problem. Please respond to any questions as soon as possible because we
understand the need to get the part shipped back to the supplier. When the issues have been resolved, or if there are
no issues, you will receive Return Material Authorization (RMA) information in an email. Please follow all instructions
when labeling the part and for shipping it back.
So why all this focus on part return lines? Because serialized parts are typically the most expensive parts to get re-
placed and maximizing life of these parts is in the best interest of the company. By having an accurate account of the
life of these parts, Loram can determine if suppliers are delivering parts that meet warrantee expectations; if Engineer-
ing needs to redesign a component or assembly because it’s failing too frequently; or even where a specific serial num-
ber is installed in the event of a recall. There is a lot of important information that tracking serialized parts can tell us,
so please remember to create those return lines!
