OPERATIONS UPDATES
Operational Excellence Coins
Congratulations to the following employees
for being recognized with an Operational
Excellence Coin in January and February!
Bennie Robinson, Superintendent UC1201 was nominated by Tyler Beebe for
his January General Recognition Coin
I would like to award Bennie Robinson for my January Operational Excellence coin. Bennie and his crew took
the initiative to build and install a hopper insert that delivers the clean ballast back to the shoulder, so the cus-
tomer can reclaim the good rock easier. Bennie also worked through a complex split gage derailment to get the
machine safely rerailed without any incidents. Bennie has been working a tough track lowering project and has
been the main driver of the footage production and a satisfied customer to keep the project on schedule and
achieving great results. Great start to the year Bennie.
Derreck Jackson, Crew Chief CRG01 was nominated by Zebediah Dintelman
for his February General Recognition Coin
In January, RGS15 traveled out of their track
authority limits while dead heading towards
Boston from New York City. While investi-
gating the incident, we found that the track
authority was given via cell phone and not the
railroad radio and the conversation between
the pilot and the dispatcher was not heard by
the Loram Operators.
As a result, Derreck and the entire RGS /
CRG team were asked to create a poster re-
garding cell phones as they pertain to railroad
communications, specifically track authorities.
Derreck used his creativity to design a very
professional and descriptive poster that we
plan to post in the operating cabs for machines
working in the Northeast.
