Sustainable energy can be defined broadly as the

sustainable provision of energy that meets the needs

of the present without compromising the ability of
future generations to meet their needs. Moreover, it is

the capacity of energy sources/capital stock to be

replenished within human lifetime, no long term or
irreversible damage to the environment and renewable

energy sources, plus avoidance or minimisation of waste.
