Objective 5: Discuss different aspects of sustainable energy.

The concept of energy sustainability incorporates the
analysis of the environmental dimension,
which is focus of this Manual; as such, three critical
aspects are discussed: renewable energy, energy
efficiency and energy conservation. It was
mentioned earlier that sustainable energy
emphasizes energy efficiency and use of
renewable sources. In each case, measures must be taken to avoid or reduce any negative
environmental consequences and optimise the positive ones, for example, through energy
conservation.
ACTIVITY: ENERGY DETECTIVE
All participants (Energy Detectives) will be required to
examine their environment (home or school), and identify
and justify the promotion of renewable energy,
energy efficiency and energy conservation and their impact
on the environment. The Energy Detectives will present
their findings using a presentation tool of their choice.
