               1(a)  (i)  TWO possible intellectual property rights violations


                                A person taking your game or animation design and
                                 using it without permission (Copyright infringement)

                                Using a character designed from the Caribbean dressed
                                 in European attire (Geographical indication)

                                Using a game or animation design logo/brand on
                                 another product without permission (Trademark)

                                       Each possible violation identified   1 mark each
                                                                                                [2 marks]


                       (ii)  ONE possible solution that can mitigate for any of the
                               violations

                                Steps  should  be  taken  to  register  the  product  or
                                 service  with  the  local  or  regional  intellectual
                                 property rights organization or government agency.

                                The intellectual property rights marks and statements
                                 are clearly placed on the product or service to make
                                 consumers  or  persons  aware  of  the  product  being
                                 protected by IP laws.

                                 Supporting details

                                 Geographical Indication (GI) is a sign used on goods
                                 that have a specific geographical origin and possess
                                 certain qualities or a reputation that are linked to

                                 Patent  is  a  grant  by  the  State  (country),  to  the
                                 inventor, of a monopoly in the use of an invention,
                                 thereby excluding others from making, using or selling
                                 the                                                            invention
                                 the country of grant for a specified period of time
