4. At least four of the larger islands ore permanently
occupied by His Excellency's subjects who live there in
stone houses as well os barastis and who ore the owners of
valuable fiohtraps round the coasts of the islands which
they acquired by purchuse or gift under the seal of the late
Shaikh of Bahrain, Shaikh Sir Isa bin ill al-Khalifah, and
al60 His Excellency Shaikh Hamad.
5. The inhabitants of the Hawar islands and their forefathers
are and always hove been the subjects of the Shaikh of
Bahrain in whose territory they ore living*
6. The people of llav/ar are today and always have been under
the jurisdiction of the Shaikh of Bahrain. They appear in
the Bahrain Courts in answer to summonses which ore served on
them in Hav/ar and all their cases and disputes are dealt with
in the Bahrain Courts. Recently in connection with a
quarrel between some of the people in Hav/ar, the Bahrain
police hod occasion to make several arrests in Hawar and
to produce the persons in the Bahrain Court.
