                                     I have the honour to refer to my despatch
                          Ho. 10 C. dated the 26th January 1930  and to submit a

                          further report on the state of tho Bahama at .iatif.
                          2.        It will he remembered that some ^atlfls had
                           taken refuge in Bahrain before the close of the yeai,

                          and that many of them claimed Balirain nationality. To
                          some 148 of them the Bahrain Governsuont gave nationality
                          papers, after the closest investigation, and with tho
                           lull authority of Shaikh Haiuad.   When Bin Gaud'
                           approached $atif Ills Excellency became nervous and told
                           the Adviser that It would be better not to issue any more
                           while tuo King was in the vicinity and only four more were

                           8.       Ghortl. oof ore Bin Baud embarked on the Patrick
                           Stewart, news reached Bahrein that a number of those
                           who had roturnod to Qatlf with.passes had been flogged

                           had helped to bury one of the viotims, there was no
                           confirmation of the nows, and the Shiah uadhi, who has
                           many relatives on that olde, did not bring further proof
                           though he had claimed he could (i oooily do so.
