                       AJtcr compliments.—With reference to my letter No. 188, dated 28th
                   Mohoram, 20th December, concerning Shaikh Ahmed's interview with Josim,
                   I beg to report that on tliodtli Safar, 2(itli December, Shaikh Ahmed returned from
                   El-Katr to Bahrain and Ali-bin-Jnsim-biu-Thaueo accompanied him with five or
                   six attcudunt8. Aftor his arrival I had a second private interview with Shaikh
                   Ahmed, and ho told me that before ho started for El-Kutr ho had written a
                   leticr to Jasim informing him of his intention to go to El-Kutr for tho purposo
                   of sport, and that when he arrived at El-Kutr, Jasim sent his son Ali Mohnui-
                   nicd-biii:Abdul Wahhab and others to receive him. They met each other ut a,
                   spring and uiado peace, aud arranged that they should not oudearour to injure*
