3. Besidos tho abovo, two other oitsos have beou roportod : ono that took placo near
Odaid, in which lour men of tho Beni Yus are said to havo boon killed, and nnotbor olT tho
Katr Coast. In tho former caso, however, no particulars havo yet bceu rbeoived ; and in tho
laltoi ull tho porsous concerned belong to Katr, aud tlio matter tboreforo doos not require
our iutorferouco.
4. In viow of tho alarm which is said to prevail I havo requested the Suuior Naval
Officor now at Muscat to bo good euougli to urraugo for a vessel of war to visit Bahrein
waters without delay.

bogging p^our attention (to tho matter) aud (tho use of) your ondeavours iu repelling tlio
said (delinquents).
At this date tho aforesaid niischiovous persons (under) their leader Zaid Bin Muhotned
El-Hajirio, who had u nuuibor of porsous with him lying iu ambush at Dhaliran on tho
ttajnl and, awaiting au opportunity, seized a “ elioeo” (bout) belonging to tlitf poople
of Katif, and, Laving boarded her (and sot. sail) on tho sea, encountered a “ boom” (boat)
belonging to my subjects of Bahroin, opposite Katif. They boardod hor and took all that
was in hor and woundod her crow. Those who roturned sal'o (to Bahroin) appoarod boforo
your Ageut, who took down their statomont, which you will 800.
I hope you will do what is needful to provido for my subjocts tho safoty that is
necessary for thorn, and put uu ond to tho affairs of tho ovil-doors.
