RemembeR: An adverb clause begins with a subordinating conjunction. Do not add an extra
connector to the independent clause.

Read each sentence. Underline the subordinating conjunctions. Write C if the sentence is correct and X if
there is an extra subordinating conjunction. Then cross out the extra subordinating conjunction and write
any corrections above it. In some cases, more than one answer may be possible.
