ACTIVITY 11 Original Writing
On a separate sheet of paper, write a comparison paragraph (at least six sentences)
about two things that interest you. Explain what the two things are, and show how
they are similar or different. Use facts, details, or examples. Use at least one example
of a compound sentence with but, and, or so and underline it; try to use two if
possible.
Here are some examples of how to begin.
• The Philippine Eagle and the American Bald Eagle are very different in several
ways.
• Reading novels and watching movies are both ways to relax, but most teenagers
prefer watching movies.
• Cricket and American baseball are completely different games although they both
involve hitting a ball with a bat.
