3 Unconventional Ways to Learn
Business Skills Fast.
By Falan Blake
I went to college for cooking. Far from what I
do today and I never even graduated from the
program. I had to learn various skills on the
job and quickly after the pandemic hit the
hospitality industry like a freight train. Luckily
for me I went to a lot of distance learning
certificate programs through the years, got
state certifications and more coaching
programs during quarantine to learn how to
run an Advertising Agency.
I never knew this was what I would end up
doing and doing well. I failed forward
essentially. All the times I failed I did feel like a
failure, but it took just ONE time for
something to stick. What makes me so good
at what I do now is my past failures. I learned
valuable skills and lessons that I can apply
today to make a more unique agency.
Everything happens for a reason. Here are the
3 best ways I found that you can learn fast to
get going. Remember my overnight success
took me 20 years and 12 failed businesses.
Let's Dive in...
Apprenticeship: One unconventional way
for female founders to learn the skills to
launch a startup is through
apprenticeships. Apprenticeships provide
hands-on experience and the opportunity
to learn from experienced entrepreneurs.
This approach allows female founders to
gain practical knowledge in a real-world
setting, which can be invaluable when
starting a business. Apprenticeships can
be found through networking and
mentorship programs, or by reaching out
directly to established entrepreneurs, like
myself.
