The demand was identified to organize a professional development project touching on the modern

avenues being explored by the youth. It resulted in the project “YoU-Turn”. Professional YouTubers

representing channels such as “JanaiPriyai”, “Vini Production”, “SL Geek” and “KanchuKa” participated

in the event.

This initiative uncovered the stories of success of

YouTubers in Sri Lanka and direct newcomers

towards the correct pathway. Besides giving

exclusive knowledge about legislation regarding

YouTube, the way to do monetization, the value of

copyrights, giving a clear knowledge about how to

get revenue quickly and correctly, how to do

publicity the guest speakers were able to

enrapture the audience by revealing personal

experiences.

The success of the You-Turn in ameliorating the public knowledge on YouTubing is immense and can

be quantized by the fact that the session uploaded to the club’s YouTube channel has gained more

than 1000 watch hours.

Secondary Avenue Education/ Fellowship

"Discover yourself" is a joint venture by the Kandy Rotary

family, with the objective of assisting local youth in

self-realization and personality development. Rtn. PP Bernadine

Jayasinghe conducted an informative yet exciting session

stressing the importance of positive thinking and further

elaborated on how to decide on a career goal. We wanted our

fellowship to break free from false beliefs that hold them back

from attaining actual knowledge, which we ultimately managed

to achieve.
