PEER
Accomplishments
PEERs throughout facilities in Pennsylvania and have worked on local and statewide issues and concerns and
have implemented several changes to improve the quality of life and care for themselves and their fellow
residents. These are just an example of the work PEERs can accomplish. The local ombudsman can play a role in
helping PEERs with their projects.
Outreach

PNA increase for both NH & PCH residents through successful legislative initiative
“Silver” Alert –A national system similar to Amber alert for missing seniors
Proclamations, PEER Day, attendance at county commissioners’ meetings, etc.
Serving as “consultants” for the state ombudsman office to give voice to the resident’s perspective
Community Involvement
Participation in charitable projects like “Toys for Tots”, etc.
