WE DO NOT INHERIT THE EARTH FROM OUR ANCESTORS.
WE BORROW IT FROM OUR CHILDREN
The main aim of the Eco Club is to conserve the natural resources and the
natural environment to create awareness about biodiversity conservation and local
environmental issues among the students.
Plants are the backbone of all life on all earth. The students learnt about the importance of
adopting and nurturing plants becoming compassionate and responsible citizens in the
process. Various gardening techniques such as organic farming, hydroponics and planting a
vertical garden were taught to the students. The concept of a vertical garden combines the
principles of the smart utilization of space, organic farming, drip irrigation system,
nutrient management and water conservation. The students were motivated to plant a vertical
garden in their homes to understand its importance.
The celebration of significant days such as the Earth Day, Environment Day, Ozone Day and
Van Mahotsav sensitized the students towards environmental concerns. The students were
encouraged to adopt these endeavours as life-long practises, working towards the collective goal
of preserving the environment for a healthier tomorrow.
