Twinkle's idea was to get into Winnipeg to see a ballet

performance. This was an exciting thought for Mirabel,

who loves the ballet. It seemed possible to land on a flat

roof in that big city, and that is what they did. They

brushed themselves down and combed their hair before

stepping through a door that led to a stairway. They were

being extremely quiet, since they didn't know what the

building was or who was in it. Mirabel touched her owl

feather and then put it in her hair. Twinkle did the same.

At that very moment, out into the stairwell appeared a

strange looking woman with big green eyes and a huge

mop. "What are you two doing in here?" she asked quite

sharply. "Um, we are looking for the Royal Winnipeg

Ballet," said a scared Twinkle. Before they could say one
more word, they were flying on the back of her mop

down the stairs and across the street. The traffic cop was
so surprised he dropped his whistle.
