Training courses for faculty members play a crucial role in enhancing their teaching skills,
expanding their knowledge base, and fostering their professional development. These courses
provide faculty members with opportunities to learn from experts, exchange ideas with
colleagues, and develop new pedagogical approaches to improve student learning outcomes.
The program administration, in collaboration with the Deanship of E-Learning and Information
Technology, is dedicated to enhancing the skills of faculty members. This involves organizing
training courses aimed at familiarizing them with the latest assessment methods and
contemporary teaching techniques. The objective is to align with international advancements in
modern teaching methodologies (Annex 4-0-3-3 Training courses for faculty members).
Promotion for faculty members is an important process that recognizes their achievements,
contributions, and potential for continued excellence in teaching, research, and service. It serves
as a motivator for faculty members to strive for higher levels of performance and contributes to
the overall academic quality and reputation of the institution. The program is overseen by
specialized councils, including the college council and department council, each with designated
responsibilities and authorities. In the department of Mechanical engineering, there are samples
for promoting faculty members (Annex 4-0-3-4 Mechanical engineering department council No. 1,
pp 5 and 23).
4-0-4 Teaching staff participate in community partnership activities; and their participation in these
activities is considered as one of the criteria for their evaluation and promotion.
Summer training for students is one of the social services that the program of Mechanical
engineering offers to the community. Student requests are distributed after obtaining approval
from engineering organizations, companies, and factories for an 8-week period during the summer
vacation. Upon completion, students are required to write a report, which is then discussed by the
department’s faculty members (Annex 4-0-4-1 Summer training guide - Faculty of Engineering),
(Annex 4-0-4-2 Summer training guide - Department of mechanical engineering) and (Annex 4-0-4-
3 Summer training report).
The department provides postgraduate students with the resources and support they need to
succeed in their studies. On the other hand, postgraduate students contribute to the departments'
research and teaching missions (Annex 4-0-4-4 Agricultural engineering diploma program) and
(Annex4-0-4-5 Summary of topics for department councils, topic 26, pp 6).
