* Essential Criteria
Comments on Results:
Provide an analytical and evaluation report in this section about the results of each standard
based on required data, evidence, and related KPIs.
Self-evaluation of criterion 5 using the self-rating scale showed that all criterion criteria were rated
with 3 or 4 stars. All areas of the standard elements were implemented through regular evaluation
and the evaluation results showed a good and/or adequate level of stakeholder satisfaction for
most of the standards. Improvement plans are usually built on evaluation results but
implementation and/or results of improvements are usually below par.
5-0-1 The program ensures the adequacy and appropriateness of learning sources and services
provided in accordance with its needs and student numbers and updated them periodically.
The learning resources consist of electronic and other reference material-accessible libraries and
facilities. Planning educational materials must take into account the specific needs of the
institution's programs. Furthermore, it is offered at a sufficient level. The library and related IT
resources must be available occasionally to facilitate self-directed learning, with help offered in
locating necessary resources. Facilities for both individual and group study must be offered in a
setting that supports fruitful inquiries and research. In response to systematic feedback from
teaching staff and students, the services need to be evaluated and improved.
The course specifications typically include a list of recommended textbooks, referred to as
essential reference materials. Students have access to the university library during working hours.
Notably, the library houses a comprehensive collection of 937 mechanical engineering books
(Annex S5-1-1).
The Saudi Digital Library serves as a valuable resource for faculty members, researchers, and
students. It offers convenient access through the university's portal, ensuring round-the-clock
availability, enabling users to access its vast collection of resources at any time, the mechanism for
accessing and searching the Saudi Digital Library (SDL) through the university’s electronic portal
(Annex S5-1-2.)
The General Administration of Library Affairs at the university is entrusted with the responsibility
of providing a comprehensive collection of both print and digital information sources. They
continuously expand the libraries' resources in terms of quantity, ensuring that the university
