In The Line of Fire                                                   1910 - 1920



































                               The Kelowna Volunteer Fire Brigade competed in many sport events...
                                       it was a kind of “club” for the young men of the town.
                                        In those days the firemen were, in many instances,
                                      the town’s lacrosse, baseball and war canoe heroes too...
                                             giving them a double measure of fame!




                                                                                                 Another
                                                                                               automobile,
                                                                                             a 1911 Cadillac,
                                                                                              was purchased
                                                                                             by the city from
                                                                                                Magistrate
                                                                                                J. F. Burne.

                                                                                              It was rebuilt by
                                                                                               the Kelowna
                                                                                                Garage &
                                                                                              Machine Shop
                                                                                                 and then
                                                                                               converted to
                                                                                                 become
                                                                                             Fire Truck No. 2
                                                                                                 in 1914.
