House the steam piping, process utility piping and will begin. The waste water treatment scope of
process piping continues, and the compressed
air and control wiring installation has begun.
Warehouse #1 has been turned over to Diageo and
they are storing bourbon barrels from an off-site
Distillery. Warehouse #2 metal siding and roofing
installation is ongoing and Warehouse #3 and #4
slab pours are almost complete.
Amazon Project Caprock in Visalia, California
reached our tenth and final turnover on June 21st.
Essentially the entire building has been turned
over to Amazon. Our TCO was completed on July
12th. All asphalt and concrete paving has been
4 completed on site. We are still working on offsite
improvements and road widening but that should
be completed by July 25th. Permanent power
was live in mid-June, and once the power was live
we began start-up of the RTU’s and started the
commissioning process. Amazon’s first receive is
August 16th.
Another project for Amazon, Project Panda
is in full swing with the 3.8 million s.f. fulfillment
center at the former Michigan State Fairgrounds in
Detroit. Gray and the developer continue to work
closely with the City of Detroit on various aspects
of this revitalization project, which also includes
construction of new public roadways, transit center
and utility improvements.
With the project consisting of 20,000 tons of
structural steel and joists, steel is now topped
out on the 5-story main structure. Slab pours are
approaching 50% complete. Precast, IMP, roofing
and metal stud walls are in progress. Building utility
systems are being installed as we work towards
a helicopter lift at the end of July and permanent
power in mid-August. We’ll turn over the first area
to the tenant and their MHE vendors at the end
of September.
On the MKDA jobsite, we are currently preparing
for finish trades to begin their work in the office
area and mechanical piping throughout the
production areas continue. By the end of the
month paving will be complete and landscaping
work shall also begin near the end of this month
and be complete the following month. All activities
were wrapping up as we neared our substantial
completion date of July 23rd.
Since the last update for the Marzetti Dressing
Plant Expansion located in Horse Cave, KY, the
Phase 1 ingredient receiving warehouse was
enclosed and is being fitted up as temporary
office and employee services space. The transition
from existing office to this temporary space was
scheduled for July 9th. This allowed the demolition
of the existing office so construction of the
production and new office areas can continue. New
employee parking lots have been paved while site
utilities continue to be installed. Foundations in the
main expansion area are 60% complete as work
in the kitchen pits has begun, and structural steel
is roughly 30% complete. Underground piping and
electrical work continue. Planning shutdowns for
utility and ingredient tie-ins is a particular focus right
now. Process and controls engineering and design
continues, while long-lead equipment purchasing
is well underway. The project is scheduled to
complete in July 2022.
Owens Corning Project Razor is pushed through
a very wet Arkansas spring. Along with site
development, storm water piping began installation
in mid-June and the excavation and shoring of the
33’ deep basement pit is around 50% complete.
The foundations for the 420,000 s.f. warehouse
portion of the facility are nearing completion and
slab pours began at the end of June. The first
shipments of the Pre-Engineered Building also
arrived at the end of June and erection of the
warehouse began in early July.
