HI LLC, the new distributor.
13.1 Management & Services LLC
2000 was a difficult year. We had sold 5 HI- Account
licenses. Business was declining and we still didn't have a
business solution. I had already postponed certain payments
for several months. I had to find funds outside the banks.
After many weeks of reflection and doubt, and after
having tried out different approaches such as private
investors and business angels, I finally decided to ask a few
major customers if they wanted to invest in a company that
had a great management solution for medium-sized and
large companies and a great clientele but needed cash.
I received two favourable responses. One directly from a
customer and the other through another customer who had
put me in touch with an investor. Having made all the
presentations and finalized the new financial plan, in March
2001 we proceeded to increase the company's capital. Of
course, I had to agree to sell 66% of my shares, which
completely changed the decision-making process, but I had
no other choice.
All was well, we had stabilized the company and were able
to meet all our commitments, until the tragic events of
September 11, 2001 in New York. The attack plunged the
economic climate back into gloom, and like many other
companies, we felt a sudden slowdown. All our projects were
