The CFO says to me in a rather pleasant tone:

"Mr Monaco, we have read your report and thank you for
drawing our attention to all the points made in it. That
said, we would like to know whether, if the Rossel group
should place an order with you to export the data to a flat
file, you would agree to do it or not?"

My answer was pragmatic. I explained that since I had taken
my consulting task to its logical conclusion, and since the
rules, procedures and responsibilities were very clear, I saw
no obstacle to responding favourably to an official order
from the Rossel Group. We received the order and carried
out the work.
I'll never know the Rossel group's real motivation: did they

have shares in the service company? did they buy it out? To
this day, it’s still a mystery !
The conclusion of this story is that months and years
went by, and 4 years later, the project was still not fully
operational. We had planned to complete it in less than 6
months.
Another fine mess!

For my side, on the rare occasions I was asked about it,
I didn't (or no longer) comment.
My attitude was: "No Comment".
