          Bula Vinakwa
          The Languages Department at Nilsen College continues to play a pivotal role in
          nurturing students’ communication skills, critical thinking and appreciation for
          literature.

          As the cornerstone of academic success, the department empowers learners to
          express themselves with clarity and confidence across all disciplines.

          The department extends heartfelt gratitude to:
             •  School Admin for the tremendous support.
             •  Dedicated  staff  members,  Ms.  Taka,  Ms.  Qota  and  Mrs.  Rakari  for  their
                 tireless commitment.
             •  Students for their enthusiasm and creativity.
             •  Community partners and alumni, especially those who sponsored prizes and
                 workshops.

          Highlights
             •  Hosted the International Mother-Tongue Language Day
             •  Hosted  the  Annual  Literary  Day  and  Library  week,  showcasing  student
                 poetry, short stories, and dramatic performances.
             •  Achieved  100%  pass  rate  in  external  English  examinations  for  Year  13
                 students 2024.
             •  Showcase Year 9 and Year 10 RSEC Performance tasks

          The  English  Department  remains  steadfast  in  its  commitment  to  excellence,
          creativity, and student success. By fostering a love for language and literature,
          we  continue  to  prepare  Nilsen  College  students  to  be  articulate  leaders  and
          compassionate citizens of the future.
