THE EXCEPTIONAL HARLEY FETTERMAN

Over the years, much damage had occurred to many grave sites.
Starting in 2001, the Nueces County Historical Commission engaged
in a detailed documentation and restoration. A detailed historical and
archaeological survey was completed by 2002. Many relatives of the
cemetery's occupants were contacted and informed of the updating of
the cemetery. Upon searching, Harley located the lost burial plot.

                          Figure 166: Shaeffer memorial gravesite.

The family gravestone was engraved: F.W. Shaeffer, Born Aug 3,
1825, in Lancaster, Ohio, Died in San Diego, Texas, October 24,
             1886, Aged 61 Y, 2M, 21 D. The gravesite was quite impressive for
this historical figure who happened to die as a result of broken legs,
due to his inexperienced carriage driver failing to control the mules as
they shied and overturned the carriage. Both legs were broken near
the knee and his surgeon failed to stop the bleeding causing his death.

On this same trip, Beth and Harley squeezed in a trip to Bobz
World in Los Fresnos, TX, which among many attractions is noted for
the world's largest, outdoor, laser tag course, a 50-game arcade, black
light mini golf and bowl, and last, but not least, Cafe with Pizza.
