Harley's own immune system was supposed to be at zero, but in
mid-April it was determined that enough immunity remained to
actually reject his first transplant. It was determined that Kevin could
not be a donor because of past concussions. The BMT medical team
found some cord blood that matched Harley. Other family members
were tested without good results. Harley, at the moment, had no
immune system. Blood drives were organized because he would be
needing blood donations for granulocytes, (white blood cells) for at
least four weeks to fight fungal and bacterial infection.
Harley's second Rebirthday, was 4/22/16 when he received new
cells in hopes of engraphment twelve days later. (Harley felt lucky
since 4 x 2 x 2 = 16.) Four days earlier he had undergone
chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Hone, Su Park, Bre Brown, and Merlyn Hilemen.
On day #2 of the second transplant, Harley's friends traveled to
Houston to support their dear friend. By day #6, Harley was feeling
side effects of chemo and radiation such as mouth sores, and bruises.
