calligraphy, like greeting cards, invitations, bookmarks, gift tags, and more.  Students learn to paint in
                   gouache, and to do Victorian brushwork (drawing pictures by painting).  Our big project is to make an
                   accordion – style alphabet book consisting of letters painted in various styles throughout history.  This
                   serves as a sort of art timeline that the students can refer to again and again throughout their academic

               •  Jr World Calligraphy – (Grades 2  - 6 ) This is a sampler of writing styles from around the world.  Some
                   will look a bit familiar, others will be completely new and different.  We will learn both the original
                   alphabet or writing system, and then a version of our Roman alphabet done in that style.  We’ll also learn
                   some basic decorations from each culture.  Have fun learning to write the way the Chinese, West Africans,
                   Greeks, Vikings, Russian and Thai people do!  Students should be comfortable with basic handwriting, and
                   familiar with their ABC’s.    Teacher: Teresa Hemphill  Recommended Donation of $12 per weekly class

               •  World Calligraphy – (MS-adult) This class is an exciting calligraphy sampler of writing styles from around
                   the world.  We will learn both the original alphabet, if there is one, and then a version of our Roman
                   alphabet done in a unique style.  We’ll also learn some decorations from each culture.  Have fun learning to
                   write in Chinese, Russian, Ethiopian, Hebrew and even Elvish!  Students should be comfortable with basic
                   handwriting.  Teacher:  Teresa Hemphill Recommended Donation of $12 per weekly class


               •  Illuminated Bible Art - (Grades 4 & Up) This class covers the history of the illuminated Bible.  We learn
                   about colors, numbers, and motifs that were important to the Hebrew tradition.  Then, we move on to
                   symbols of the early Church and from there move on to Ethiopian, Armenian, Byzantine, Celtic, Ottoman
                   German, French, Spanish, Italian and European Hebrew designs in illuminated manuscripts.  We also learn
                   in the new medium of gelatos, and some fun Bible journaling techniques.  Students use what they’ve
                   learned to decorate their own journaling Bible that is both amazing to look at and full of meaning. This is a
                   drop-in class, so students are welcome to come whenever they can to relax, create, and learn something

               •  Jr Drawing- (Kindergarten through preteen) A drawing class just for the younger set. Kids love to draw!
                   Learn to draw what you see. Use your imagination while improving your drawing skills! Have fun drawing
                   with lots of materials! Pencils, charcoal, pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils and more! Teacher: Pam Boone

               •  Teen/Adult Drawing- (for teens and adults) The best way to learn to draw or improve your skills is to draw,
                   draw and draw some more. This class will encourage you to exercise and stretch your ability. You will learn
                   about tools and resources and how to use them. You will learn how to SEE differently when you start to
                   draw. While pencils are a common drawing tool, we will also explore charcoal, ink, pastels and more
                   possibilities. Come to the first class with a spiral bound drawing sketchbook (9x12 or 11x14). You can use
                   my tools in class and decide what tools you want to purchase later. Teacher: Pam Boone Recommended

               •  Painting with Acrylics- (ages 13 and up) This class will teach students ages 13+ to become confident
                   painting with acrylics. Students will learn to create their own representational paintings from photographs.
                   Subjects covered will include composition, color-mixing, perspective, and basic drawing skills. Beginners
                   welcome! Slightly younger students may be allowed with teacher permission. Required Supplies: Each
                   student will need their own set of paint and brushes however Quest will purchase the supplies and student
                   can, in turn, purchase what they need from us. This will help all the students to have the same materials.

               •  Drama- (all ages- must be able to read proficiently and supply costumes for performances) This year- long,
                   foundational class, designed for students with little or no theatre experience, promotes enjoyment and
