• Advanced Violin Lessons- requires permission before registering. Students develop their musical talents on
violin with one of Tucson's best violin instructors. Lessons are conducted in a private and semi-private
environment. Daily practice is expected and incentives will be provided. Students will be required to perform as
a group in the Fine Arts Festival held in May 2016. Solos may also be incorporated as appropriate and at student
and teacher discretion. Teachers: David Rife & Wynne Rife Recommended Donation dependent on music

• Chorale- (ages 10 and up) This class will provide instruction for students to sing in a chorus style group. Students
will learn to sing parts and participate in singing spirituals and other Christian choral music. This class will also
include some teaching on how to read music. This class will be offered on both Monday and Wednesday to allow
students more time to practice. You may come both days or just one depending on your schedule. Teacher:

• Beginning Ensemble & Jr. Ensemble- (Appropriate for ages 10 and up through adults) This is a strings class for
slightly older students who have not played a stringed instrument before or who have not had much experience
before coming to the class. If you have always dreamed of playing violin, viola, cello, or stringed bass, this is the
class for you. The students in this class will be taught to read music, to count, and to play together as a group
with proper musical expression. Students will be expected to prepare for class through daily practice. Individual
instruction on certain concepts will be provided from time to time, if needed, and then the student will return to
the ensemble to continue working as a team. Teacher: Kathryn Harpainter Recommended Donation $12 per

• 2nd year Strings Ensemble Class (ages 10 and up)- This class provides a group experience for those students
who have had a year or more of string instruction and have made significant progress in intonation, music
reading and rhythm. Fluency in the music production will continue to develop and the student will have fun with
the group experience while building team skills. Additional reading and string techniques will be introduced and
the music will become slightly more challenging as the year progresses but will be tailored to the needs of the
class so the students can be successful. Appropriate for ages 10 and up. Teacher: Kathryn Harpainter

• Advanced and Chamber Orchestra- This orchestra is unique in its composition in that it seeks to honor God
through orchestral music. The instructor is a nationally renowned conductor and composer and is in high
demand as a teacher. He is well versed in youth orchestras and has committed to developing a program which
uses Christian music in the classical orchestral style to develop ensemble playing skills for our students. Students
should have at least 1 -2 years of experience with their instrument, but very advanced students are also
welcome and will be given more challenging pieces in smaller ensembles. Students will be expected to practice
their orchestral pieces at home and incentives for practice will be provided. The orchestra will perform at
various venues from time to time including possibilities at Quest Connects and at the Winter Concert and the
Fine Arts Festival in May. Teacher: Kathryn Harpainter Recommended Donation of $12 per weekly class
• Private Music Lessons- Lessons in voice, flute, clarinet, all stringed instruments including harp, piano, and some
brass can be arranged and given at Quest. Times are arranged individually. Teachers will vary depending on
time and instrument. Piano lessons are currently offered through Quest but they are off-site at the teacher’s
