What a Christian Believes

Sin comes from the darkness and lives in it and loves it and it
shuns the light, otherwise its true nature could be seen.
John 3 v19 'This is the verdict, Light has come into the
World, but men loved darkness instead of light because
their deeds were evil'.
Satan or the devil is referred to as the prince of darkness
(Ephesians 5 v11) but his end is the blackness forever (Jude
13)
4. Sin is Separation.

Sin separates man from God. Isaiah 59 v2 'But your
iniquities have separated you from God, your sins have
hidden His face from you so that He will not hear'.

It will separate man now but will also eternally. Revelation
20 v15 'If anyone's name was not found in the Book of
Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire'.

5. Sin is perversion.

Sin perverts mans' thoughts and tries to pollute his SOUL
(the seat of his character). Loose thinking leads to careless
living. Isaiah 64 v6 'All of us have become like one who
is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel like a leaf and like the wind our sins sweep
us away'.

6. Sin is servitude and slavery.

The bible teaches that in indulging in sin means to have a life
of toil, bondage and labouring of the most wearing kind.
Romans 6 v23 'For the wages of sin is DEATH...'

7. Sin is emptiness.

Sin causes emptiness and hollowness. A man who serves
