environment for true meditation to take place. You will need a place
where nobody can bother you by telephone, door bell or partner gently
entering your room to see if you are ready for a cup of tea. As long as
there is any possibility of the remotest disturbance then you will find
that you will be sitting with one ear on the alert and therefore not
relaxing properly and consequently, not getting full benefit from your
meditation. It only takes one sudden or unexpected noise to jolt you
alarmingly from your tranquil state, to end up, heart thumping, feeling
nausea, often aura damaged and trying to regain your normal physical
composure. Usually you will find that you have not fully closed down
and that you will find yourself feeling drained of energy. This is not
good for you and therefore it is strongly recommended that you do not
meditate in this dangerous state until you are sure that you could

            withstand such disturbance.
When you have that still, safe place arranged find a
comfortable position to sit in, wear a comfortable mode of dress,
preferably loose fitting, and ensure the lighting is unobtrusive. It is
preferable that some form of light is provided as it is reassuring to
open your eyes and find that you are really back in the earth world
again. So as to give direction to your meditation you could light a
candle. This is a simple act and when accompanied by the conscious
thought of the symbolic dedication of this time to the Light, you will
understand that this will straight away put consciousness of the true
Light to the fore. In lighting the candle you have dedicated this period

of your time to the Light, to the work of the Light, for the Light.
When you meditate it is advisable that you predetermine in
some way a theme for the sitting. This is again a case of not just
sitting for "whatever" but making full use of this precious, sacred
occasion for definite purpose. Having decided on a theme you have let
Spirit know your intention and there is therefore clarity of purpose. As
you are aware by this stage this is very important in any activity that
