Page 26 - Spirit - A Journey Through Embodiment
P. 26
Other animals do not fear death as humankind does. If we are
to realise that the inevitable outcome of physical life is that
the body will die, if we are to realise that inevitably our Spirit
will live on, and if we accept these realisations then we can
ask our selves where is there anything to be afraid of? The
answer is that there is nothing to be afraid of. If you doubt
this, ask anyone who has had a near death experience. The
only pain, if any, is prior to the NDE or post the NDE. There
is no pain in actual death of the body. If we remove the notion
of discomfort or pain then we will also go a long way to
removing the fear of death. When we loose the fear of dying
we can release ourselves from what could be our greatest fear
and the greatest control another can have over us.
There are certain situations that we can evoke the help of God
to assist us in coping with. Please note the use of the word
“certain”. Certain does not mean all. The principle that we
constantly hand over our difficulties to God is often abusive
and disrespectful towards God. God gave us all the power we
will ever need to handle any difficulty we will or might
encounter in this world. In my opening comment of this topic
I deliberately used the words “help” and “assist”. We only use
these words when we need them and never think they mean
that we hand back to God the power God gave us to use. In
any experience we encounter during our sojourn on earth we
have the total capacity to deal with it, and utilise it to our
spiritual benefit. It is our Spirit that has that power. That part
of us that is called the ego is the part that experiences fear and
lacks the ability to find the solutions on its own. When the ego
