Religion has now become the nearest humankind can get to
spirituality. In religion humankind has made the messenger
god. Ego is reaction, Spirit is action.

The Human being could be said to be composed of two parts,
a human and a being. The human is but another species of
animal with the associated being or Spirit. Everything in
creation is imbued with the Spirit of its creator. We see human
hand made creations and can often feel the love and care that
has been employed in their making. We see in the human the
same characteristics of it's parents. But that is only when we
look at the physical form, the human. If we are to look at the
being we can also see the image of its creator, God. Normally
the human senses are tuned to the physical world, the world of
the human and thus only focus of that. it could be said that life
is mostly a practice of humans being human, and seldom a
practice of beings being beings. Life on earth is meant to be a
practice of human beings being human and being.

A learned human once suggested that "the ego is the mind and
the body". In our understanding this is an acceptable
suggestion and this also suggests that the ego is the human.
We see the Spirit in the human as the being. Put these together
and we can see that the human being is therefore Ego and
Spirit. We can often, as a human being find a conflict between
the body and the mind. There can be all sorts of physical and
mental disruption between these two sides ending with illness.
