Is THIs PANDEmIC TRUly "UNPRECEDENTED"?

The Common Flu
Everyone in the entire world seems to be focusing
on the projected death toll of COVID-19, but few
are aware of the death toll that was the result of
the common flu just one year prior. The common
influenza strain managed to kill an estimated 80,000
Americans from 2017 to 2018. That’s 219 Americans
per day. Of the 80,000 that were lost to this disease,

180 of those deaths were children. An additional
959,000 were hospitalized on top of the death count.
But do you know what the most alarming thing about
this is? America didn’t freak out! Americans got their
flu shots and went on their way, but at no point did
anyone suggest closing businesses or implementing
social distancing. With a death count so extremely

high, how do Americans not know the depth of lives
lost during this time? Why was nobody freaking out?

Additional Morbid Facts That Are Also Horrible but
Never Focused On:
In 2018, 250,000 patients died due to accidents in
a hospital. That’s right, an “oopsie,” a “whoops,” a

“my bad” managed to claim one quarter of a million
lives and yet nobody banned doctors or hospital

visits. Folks, an incredible 684 people die per day,
every day from hospital mistakes and yet most
people aren’t overwhelmed by fear every time they
