of the former staff, but they can complete these duties
for around half of the total salary expense of in-house
staff. A managed services provider, or IT company,
can also complete these support tasks at a much faster
rate thus reducing downtime and resolution times for
their clients because they typically have many more

people on staff than the small business owner could
afford to employ.
A down economy creates more of a push of clients
to an IT company, as opposed to marketing having
to pull them into the sale. Technology Solutions
Consulting Inc, an IT and Managed Services
company started by Josh Fellman and M. Jerome

Garrett, was started during the last recession in 2008
and proceeded to grow rapidly during that down
economy and went on to become one of the larger IT
companies within its market.
Whether it’s e-commerce or IT companies, there
are some notable winners in this shutdown. So who
is losing in this coronavirus economy? Nearly every
small business owner and their staff is being hurt
by the coronavirus economic shutdown which has

unemployed 16,000,000 million Americans as of
the time of the writing of this book (April 9). Many
businesses deemed “non-essential” have been forced
