First off, he became frustrated when public
releases lacked any numerical context. Press
conference after press conference simply presented
two vague graphs, one with a high apex protruding
the dotted line of the hospital capacity and one
with a flat apex below the dotted line of the hospital
capacity. None of the graphs included the number of
cases requiring an ICU bed, the number of ICU beds

available, or the number of days of the pandemic.
Facing a similar medical challenge in Canada,
he began digging for data. Using data from other
countries, he estimated the number of expected
simultaneous serious cases. Like Henry Ford, he then
pulls in ordinary data from other sources. He found
historical articles detailing the number of ICU beds

in the country. Ultimately arriving at the conclusion
that there would be approximately 478 deaths per
million people in Canada, putting his projection
smack dab in the middle of Dr. Fauci projection of
306 to 611 deaths per million people. Entrepreneurs
when faced with uncertainty often dig for data.
However, entrepreneurs are not satisfied with the just
               short-term projections and because entrepreneurs
are playing chess not checkers, they question what

               happens after the apex?
Well, the most comparable economic event
happened in the “Great Recession” of 2008 and
