THE PROBLEM

We’ve talked about the facts of the virus, the
misleading information, the grossly overestimated
predictions, the unnecessary precautions people
are making. We’ve talked about the result that

the misinformation has had on society, how the
government-mandated shutdown is destroying the
economy and the lives of business owners and their
employees everywhere. All over something less
deadly than the flu. So how did we get here? Why is
it that, this time, the world is shutting down unlike
ever before in modern history?
Remember earlier when we talked about the swine
flu of 2009 that infected over 60 million Americans

and killed 12,469 people? Like most Americans
