Next After that Then and then

Begin a sentence with Then, Next, or After that. Use a capital letter. Use and then to connect two
sentences into one sentence. Do not use a capital letter on and then.

Example:

I usually start to study at 4:00. I get my books, notebook, and pencil. Then I put them all
on my desk. I look at my assignment notes, and then I find the right page. Next I read the
directions carefully. After that I take a sheet of paper and put my name on it. Then I start to do
my homework.
