➢ Decrease of capillary fragility so reduce capillary bleeding, e.g. rutin,
                        hesperidin.

➢ Isoflavone derivatives have a distinct estrogenic effect

                     ➢ Hepatoprotective

                     ➢ Anti-oxidant

                                      1. Flavone Glycosides Ex.: Diosmin

              Occurs in buchu leaves

The diuretic and diaphoretic action of the leaves is owed to diosmin, and diosphenol, the
main constituent of the volatile oil of the leaf.

              Uses:

                 • Treating various disorders of blood vessels including hemorrhoids, varicose
veins, poor circulation in the legs (venous stasis), and bleeding (hemorrhage)
                     in the eye or gums.

                 • For swelling arms (lymphedema) following breast cancer surgery.

                 • Protect against liver toxicity.

                 • It is often taken in combination with hesperidin, another plant chemical.
