Crushing career goals: Nadiyah Bragg
Everyone loves a smiling face, and our very own Nadiyah Bragg has a lot to smile about.
MIL extends a big congratulations to Nadiyah on her promotion to Director of Operations.
A member of the MIL family for the past eight years, Nadiyah is now responsible for the
management of the operations team which includes managing the Corporate Service Center
(CSC) IT Operations, internal office activities, supervising administrative staff, and overseeing
IT Asset operations. She will also manage the operating budget, as well as oversee property
management, leases, and vendor service contracts and agreements. In this new role, Nadiyah
establishes operational tasks, policies, and procedures consistent with MIL’s mission and
development. Currently leading MIL efforts in managing multiple data and voice system
integration projects, she is also developing an IT asset management system; and streamlining
processes for consistency and efficiency. Nadiyah is also MIL’s Assistant Facility Security
Officer (AFSO) supporting the FSO with MIL’s overall security program, development
implementation, and maintenance of security procedures as required. When asked what is
one of the most rewarding things about her career at MIL Nadiyah replied, “Having great co-
workers! The staff is always very supportive and welcoming. Developing a true connection with
everyone has made the work environment very gratifying.”
Experienced in operations management from her previous role at The Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) Officer of the Chief Counsel Secretary, Nadiyah provided executive
assistance on a full range of the activities to the legal branch of the Office of Compliance,
Inspection and Examination (OCIE). This included managing the day-to-day operations such
as time and expense, international travel, logistics, managing records within the publication
inventory and distribution systems, ensuring all financial enforcement exams were tracked,
submitted, and filed for accurate government record, and organizing the summer internship
orientation for all OCIE agencies. These skills and more have helped Nadiyah over the years to
excel at her job and focus on professional development.
Although embarking on new roles and responsibilities can be a challenge and learning a
new skill can be difficult at times, Nadiyah believes that those obstacles allow her to flex her
organizational skills to introduce new and innovative ideas, while helping to streamline the
corporate infrastructure process and support initiatives. “Having the ability to express my ideas,
along with the opportunity to implement those structural enhancements for the betterment
of the organization is rewarding,” says Nadiyah. She shared that she is motivated by every
challenge to enable and foster a culture of excellence through internal and cross-functional
initiatives.
So, what advice would Nadiyah give to others who may want to build a successful career
at MIL? “Follow the career path that is projected for your role to become a leader through
adaptation, determination, and dedication. Be open-minded and explore all options that are
readily available,” said Nadiyah.
Please join us in congratulating Nadiyah on this important professional achievement.
