Let’s do another chart just for drill. You remember in chapter four we talked
about BRYON C. FOY, the man who lived in Dallas, Texas and married into the
CHRYSLER family and became the chairman of the De Soto branch of Chrysler.
He has many relatives who still live in the Dallas area. Lets see what relation he
               is to me, RICHARD MILLER.

This time we have to go back further than JAMES FOY; we go to the father of
JAMES which is THOMAS FOY. Our “CP”, therefore, is THOMAS.

On the RICHARD MILLER side we have:

               1. THOMAS had a son named JAMES FOY.
               2. JAMES had a son named LEWIS FOY.
               3. LEWIS had a son named BENJAMIN FRANKLIN FOY.
               4. BENJAMIN FRANKLIN had a son named JOHN ELON FOY.
               5. JOHN ELON had a son named TRUMAN FOY.
               6. TRUMAN had a daughter named JEAN ELIZABETH FOY.
               7. JEAN ELIZABETH married a MILLER and had a son named RICHARD
                      MILLER.

On the BYRON C. FOY side THOMAS FOY had a son named FREDERICK
FOY. We call him FREDERICK FOY SR because he later had a son which he
named FREDERICK, who was called FREDERICK FOY JR.

               1. THOMAS had a son named FREDERICK FOY Sr.
               2. FREDERICK FOY Sr had a son named AMOS SIMMONS FOY.
               3. AMOS SIMMONS had a son named JAMES MADISON FOY.
               4. JAMES MADISON had a son named WALTER FRANKLIN FOY.
               5. WALTER FRANKLIN had a son named BYRON C. FOY.

Tracing the appropriate columns from the left and right you find they intersect
at the parallelogram that has the notation “4C/2R” which means fourth cousin,
twice removed. BYRON C. FOY was my fourth cousin, twice removed. (And I
still do not understand completely the removed part.)

               NOTE:
