cousins”.
Now, who would be the “second double cousin once removed”?
MARRYING COUSINS: Most of us in the USA somewhere in our background
have at least one case where 1st cousins marry each other. That happened most
often a couple of hundred years ago because of a small population and great
distances between people. There was just not as much choice for marriage
partners. First cousin marriages in the USA now, however, are restricted in about
half the states.
Therefore, according to definitions widely accepted by people concerned with
such things, every FOY we have mentioned so far in this volume is a relative of
the CISCO FOYs. And, unless advised to the contrary, every FOY we mention
throughout the rest of this volume is also a relative of the CISCO FOYs.
The primary direct line of FOYs so far mentioned is only two generations. We
started with THOMAS FOY (first generation). THOMAS had five sons, one of
whom was JAMES FOY (referred to later as JAMES FOY, SR) is the second
generation in the CISCO FOY lineage.
