In witness wherof he the said Thomas Foy hath hereunto set his hand & seal
this eighth day of January in the year 1788.

Jones County Court December Term 1789
This was the aforegoing will of Thomas Foy, dec’d, duly proved in open
court by oath of Jessie Sanderson and Edward Whitty two of the subscribing
witnesses and ordered to be recorded. At the same time James Foy and
Frederick Foy the executors herein named qualified as such acceptable to
law.
Ordered that letters testamentary issues accordingly,

JACOB FOY (? -1786)
JACOB FOY’s name is also listed on the 1769 Craven County list of tax payers.
He, also, owned property and slaves as we shall see from the wording of his will.
JACOB also married a woman named ELIZABETH. Her maiden name is not
known but when she and JACOB were married her last name was SHEPARD
as she was the widow of ABSOLOM SHEPARD.
ELIZABETH and JACOB had one son named FREDERICK FOY.
JACOB’s will dated January 10, 1786 is as follows:
