Planner), as well as our school's information, which includes more detailed
information on these topics and a copy of the Parental Involvement Plan.
4. Describe how parents, the school staff, and students share responsibility for
improved student academic achievement for participating students (How the School-
Parent Compact is jointly developed with Title I parents; how it is used, reviewed, and
updated). (Sec. 1116(d))
The responsibility for improving academic achievement is shared by parents, staff,
and students through collaboration in various venues such as: parent seminars,
classroom meetings, classroom visits volunteering time and talents with the
students, boot camps that address needed topics, informational meetings, and
conferences.
5. Describe procedures to allow parents to submit comments of dissatisfaction
with the Continuous Improvement Plan. (Sec. 1116(c)(5))
The first reading of the Annual Continuous Improvement Plan (ACIP) is read,
reviewed, and discussed at the ACIP parent meeting. At the same time, parents may
offer their input on the plan. Also, a copy of the plan is located in the main office ,
the media center, and each individual teacher's classroom. A suggestion box is
located in the main office where parents can drop their comments or suggestions.
The comments are read and taken into consideration. After the plan is approved,
the final plan is placed in the same designated areas. Princeton promotes an "Open
Door Policy" for parents and they are welcomed in the school as long as the
instructional process is not disturbed, and there is not a concern for COVID-19
spread. Parents have the opportunity to problem solve by scheduling conferences
with the faculty or principal. Parents can also submit concerns on the Birmingham
City School's website. The principal is available when parents have a need, so that
any issues may be addressed.
6a. Describe how the school will build capacity for parental involvement including how
parents will be encouraged to become equal partners in the education of their children.
(See ESSA Sec. 1116, requirements for building capacity and parental and family
engagement).
To ensure effective involvement of parents and to support a partnership among the
school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement, our
school:
Shall provide materials and training to help parents to work with their children to
improve their children's achievement, such as literacy training and using technology, as
appropriate, to foster parental involvement.
