Princeton Alternative Elementary School
Parent and Family Engagement
1. Describe how the school will convene an annual meeting to inform parents of
the school's participation in Title I and explain Title I requirements, including the 1% set-
aside, and the right of parents involved. (Sec. 1116(c)(1))
Before Princeton Elementary School holds its annual meeting for all parents of
participating children, parents are notified of the meeting through written notices
sent home by students, postings within the school's Class DOJO internet
communication system, school intercom announcements, by posting on the school
marquee, by phone master, by posting on the school's website, and postings in our
main office. Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, the 2020 Annual Title I meeting was
hosted virtually via Zoom. To assist in providing the opportunity for all parents to
attend, the meeting is offered at two different times, in the morning and in the
evening on the scheduled day in September. The 1% Title funding is allocated to
providing parents with resources that will improve parent teacher communication
and student accountability. Additional funds were added to the 1% to ensure the
purchase of planners and folders for all students for parent-teacher
communication.
2a. Describe how there will be a flexible number and format of parent meetings
offered, such as meetings in the morning or evening, and may provide, with funds
provided under this part, transportation, child care, or home visits, as such services relate
to parental involvement.
1. The annual meeting for parents of participating children will be offered on the
fourth Thursday of the month. In addition, the school offers parent conferences by
phone and in person for parents to keep constant communication lines open with
teachers and administrators. We offer I-parent grade book (online) to keep parents
informed of changes in student grades and assignments. Parents can email
teachers and administrators with any concerns that they may have after-school
hours and during the school day. 2. Princeton Elementary School believes in
involving parents in all aspects of the school. We have parent representatives who
are active participants in the development of the plan and were involved from the
first meeting of the school wide committee. In addition, all parents were given the
opportunity to view the plan and offer their input before the plan was approved.
For the Parental Involvement Survey, all parents are given surveys at the end of the
school year seeking their input on activities, training, and materials that the school
should offer to parents the next school year. Each year, the school wide plan,
including the Parental involvement plan, is reviewed and evaluated. The parent
representatives meet to determine needed changes based upon the results of the
parent surveys. 3. We use allocation of parental involvement funds for the purchase
