Dean Rinehart
                                                       Maintenance Complex

                                                       (new facility at Westerville Campus)

Dean Rinehart started with Kokosing in 1971 in the
mechanic shop where he spent his career shirt-sleeve
managing Kokosing’s field equipment needs. Dean
used his extensive knowledge of mechanics to develop
an outstanding field maintenance program, and
was not fazed by seemingly impossible challenges.
Two noteworthy equipment challenges included the
construction of the IHC ladder bucket dredge named
the “Tiger” after Brad Burgett, and the relocation and
rebuilding of a Bucyrus Erie 380W 16-yard walking
dragline. Dean was instrumental in other areas of
Kokosing’s growth including acting as the inaugural
president of Kokosing Materials,Inc. Dean’s contributions
cannot be measured; his leadership and hands-on
involvement with his team of mechanics kept the award-
winning Kokosing equipment fleet in excellent condition.
