A RARE SILK KESI ‘DRAGON’ ALTAR FRONT
Late Ming Dynasty
The panel woven with a central roundel depicting
a front-facing four-clawed mang dragon chasing a
flaming pearl amidst clouds and flames, amidst bats
and blossoming lotus issuing from leafy tendrils, the
upper flap woven with the Precious Objects, all on a
yellow ground bordered by a blue band decorated
with scrolling lotus designs, mounted.
