           The thick top set with scroll ends gently curving upwards, above
           spandrels finely carved with stylised chilong, the thick legs of
           rectangular section, enclosing openwork panels intricately carved with
           interlacing geometric designs, set into wide ‘shoe’ feet.

           A PAINTED ENAMEL PINK-GROUND ‘BAJIXIANG’ PRICKET
           CANDLESTICK
           Mid Qing Dynasty
           Supported on a slightly spreading base, the shallow drip-pan with
           an everted flange rim rising to a long knobbed column supporting a
           smaller upper drip-pan surmounted by gilt pricket, painted in brilliant
           enamels with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, Bajixiang, alternating with
           medallions enclosing fruits and flowers, within decorative borders
           of stylised leaves and ruyi-heads, all on a pink ground embellished
           with gilt swastika pattern, the knob decorated with gilt floral scroll
           on a lapis-blue ground, the foot rim similarly painted with lapis-blue
           encircling a band of florets. 48.5cm (19 1/8in) high.

           AN ARCHAISTIC CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL VASE, GU
           Mid Qing Dynasty
           Modelled in the shape of an archaic bronze vessel, enamelled to the
           exterior on the mid-section with taotie masks divided by gilt flanges,
           between upright petals enclosing stylised motifs surmounted by lotus
           scrolls on the trumpet neck and similar decoration on the spreading
           foot, the interior decorated with lotus scrolls within ruyi-head border.
